Winter is Coming

Winter is coming and I am totally ready. Bring it on Portland.

halloween

For halloween I was "Krasnaya Shapochka" or as you americans like to say "Little Red Riding Hood". Grandma Lauren got me a book from Denmark called "Den Lil Rodhaete" which I am sure I am spelling wrong but I am pretty sure is the same story. It is one of my favorite books. I totally nailed the part and everyone knew who I was. I went trick or treating at this great street where they close off traffic and there were tons of kids. After one half hour and 1/4 of a mini kit kat bar I was all tuckered out and we headed for home.

Mason and I have a play date

My friend Mason is 6 months younger than me. And as someone older, I always try to give him some advice. For example, don't drink all your milk at once, practice fake crying to see what  you can get and it's better to poop on the potty than on yourself. The other day we had a play date and I taught him how to ride my bike and not be a pussy about it. He was really brave.

Elliot Reads Me a Bedtime Story

My Potty

Many of you are familiar with the potty training mom and dad have done with me since I was just 2 weeks old. I was practically potty trained just before my first birthday, but then I learned to walk and refused to sit on the potty and go. For. Six. Long. Months. This is half the time that I had already been poopin' and peeing like a champ on the potty. Mom often was quite frustrated but I just didn't care. Until one day. I showed an interest again. Almost exactly 2 months ago, when I was 18 months old, I decided that maybe pooping my pants was not so lady like and mom and dad took away my diapers. At first there was pee in a lot of places othere than the potty, but after a bout a week, I was too embarrassed really to pee anywhere but my potty. At school there are no diapers allowed so that helps keep me in line. Here are some pics of me on my throne. I have covered up my face for privacy purposes (you know the internet). I still wear a diaper when I sleep, but many times I wake up dry.

The Owl and the Dove Montessori

Hello my faithful blog followers. I have big news. A few short weeks ago, I started school. It is a small Montessori that is run out a woman's home in NE Portland. There are 7 students in each "class". I am in the 18 mo-3 year class. And there are 7 more in the 3-6 year class. There are two finches, a dove, 2 chickens, a potbelly pig, a lizard and a couple of fish at the school. I love teacher Teri and the kids. I go on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7:30 -3:30. I have a "backack" that is shaped like a fox that I bring my lunch and extra clothes in and I take naps and eat lunch with my friends. We do lots of art and music and I just love it. Here are a few pics.

What sound does the sheep make?

This video is a few months old. On mom's birthday we went berry picking at the Pumpkin Patch Farm. They have this barn with a bunch of animals. Here is a video of me with the sheep.

The Bear

I like bears. I got to see this bear up close at the zoo!

Holding Hands with Arturo

Last weekend I went to the zoo with my friend Arturo. I kept trying to hold hands with him and he kept trying to get away.

Parkways

What do you mean we can't have cookies for lunch?

Oooh, grapes.

Too cool with our sunglasses.

I only had a few cookies.

I am now an expert bike passenger.
Today we went to the Portland Parkways. They close off all the streets in a giant 9 mile scenic loop with lots of parks. We stopped at this park for a picnic lunch. My friend Winnie and I had a great time taking turns on the slide and riding in the bike trailer. I can't wait for the next Parkways next month!

The Wic

Miss Piggy Nose wic-ing

Happy Baby style wic-ing

Fake Scared style wic-ing

Gangsta styl wic-ing

Little Miss Muffet style wic-ing
I just love the park. Sometimes I walk the whole way there while holding mom or dad's hand. I love the swing which I call a "wic". I am almost an expert level wic-er as you can tell by my above photo montage. I also love to play on the play structure and yell "mine" when other kids try to enter my territory.

Sink Time

It took me some time to adjust to using a bath tub. I was so use to using my duck bath that I didn't know how rad running water could be. I used the sink time as my gateway to full on tub time sans duck. I am now a little fish and I love the water (check out my earlier post at the fountain).

Stomping

Chalk on the sidewalk

Last weekend we flew down to LA to visit my cousins Sebastian and Celeste and my auntie April and Uncle Daniel. Yaya also came down from Oakland and Grandma Lauren and Grandpa Duane drove up from San Diego. We had a very nice time trashing the house and I decided that taking a bath was scary so I was quite dirty when I returned to Portland. Here are a few fun pic of the cousins and the neighbor boy, Marseille, playing in the street.
